Depends on the day! Sometimes a translator, sometimes a sub-editor, sometimes a writer, sometimes a jewellery designer, but always designing fashion and accessories in my head.

What’s your definition of style?

Style is an extension of yourself, it’s something that expresses your personality and how you feel, or how you aspire to feel.

You inspire and empower many women with your own style, who are your fashion icons and inspirations?

I don’t really copy anyone but I greatly admire Iris Apfel – a day let loose in her accessory collection would be like heaven!

Why did you select this Micky In The Van outfit? As two separate dresses, these are quite contemporary designs, but worn together in a way that wasn’t necessarily intended by the designer they have something romantic, feminine and old fashioned about them (which actually is not my normal style, but it’s good to try new things!) – plus I love the colour and bold pattern. I can imagine adding a parasol and sitting out on the lawn for a garden party!

What are three key items of clothing/accessories/footwear that you believe are must haves?

For Melbourne’s constantly changing weather, a cardigan or light jacket is pretty handy although I am yet to find one that goes with every outfit. And of course I am never without an umbrella – whether to keep me dry or stop those UV rays from hitting (even though I get so many odd looks when I walk around with it on a sunny day!).

Practicalities aside, I don’t really have any key items, but I find a colourful lightweight coat and plenty of accessories can dress up any outfit at just about any time of the year.

What would be one essential piece of advice that you’d like to pass on to the sisterhood?

Use accessories! They can make any outfit fabulous.
