What’s your definition of style?

Style is unique self expression, it is our trademark. It is in the way we move, speak, smile, laugh, dance, sing. In my world everyone of us is an artist, we create an art work with our choice of clothing, colours, our mood, the way we communicate and carry ourselves. An art work can be minimal, abstract, surreal, classic, contemporary, it may reflect a certain era, creative movement, emotional state of an artist, the same applies to clothing and putting an outfit together. We are all artists and we all have our personal style.

You inspire and empower many women with your own style, who are your fashion icons and inspirations?

My fashion icons are people I meet every day, my friends and family, the creative personalities we spot on the streets. I admire the work of a lot of local and international designers, stylists and show business personalities but my most inspirational icons are right here. Estelle has always been one of my greatest inspirations as a friend and as an artist, creator, designer whose story travels and inspires many.

Why did you select this Micky In The Van outfit?

I love the simplicity in the silhouette, attention to detail in this piece. I see beauty in minimalism. I love how you can look effortlessly chic in this cute one piece. I would have loved to wear more than one outfit for the shoot and talk about every one of them. They all take me on a unique journey and have its own creative story.

What are three key items of clothing/accessories/footwear that you believe are must haves?

All the basics in clothing and accessories are the must-have, they can be paired with statement or trendy piece for a perfect stylish look. Clothing: white shirt, well fitted pair of black pants, classic dress. Accessories: timeless handbag, black pumps or booties, classic flats (ballerina shoe for girly girls, loafer for the classic cool chick or sporty slip on for energetic ladies).

What would be one essential piece of fashion advice that you’d like to pass on to the sisterhood?

Your dress sense is your opinion, a reflection of your character and your creative mind at play. Wear what you feel good in, you are your own canvas and an artist. If you carry an outfit with character and confidence, it will always suit you. Every artist will express themselves differently. Do not follow – be inspired, do not judge – encourage freedom of expression, do not take it all too serious – have fun with it. is a great hub of inspiration for fashion hungry and anyone who loves to explore the world for the most amazing fashion finds and talented designers. We are always on the hunt for the new artistic fashion expressions, ‘street style stars’, fashion collaborations and the industry newcomers.

What is a mantra/quote that you follow that has helped you with your success?

A friend of mine wrote these 5 points on the paper for me once and challenged me to follow them. They might sound a bit hippie but they helped through the hard times, and altered the way I think, I watched all the beautiful things come our way. They are not as easy to follow but they are the key to personal and career success.
